Pitbulls and BSL(Breed Specific Legislation)

Posted by kylehanley on January 27, 2010

I have always been a dog lover and a few years ago came by a Pitbull whos real name is Matix but is more commonly reffered to as “pain in the ass”.  he is a stuborn trash loving dog…with a heart and personality that makes anybody smile.  Ever since I have fell in love with one of the most loyal dogs I have ever seen I became aware of Breed specific legislation where this type of breed is put down because of its so called vicious nature.  This suprised me because every pitbull I have ever encountered has been so loving and more afraid of a chihuaha than itself.  I am always involved in trying to help this cause weather it be word of mouth or to help out at an animal shelter.  I think it would be a good topic because it has been creeping farther and farther north on the front range.

Thinking about Multimodality

Posted by kylehanley on January 25, 2010

It is true that in this world, we need to as people become increasingly aware of the technology around us and how to use it.  I has become increasingly neccessary as well in most of the jobs that we will be occupying.  You have to be experienced in reading and skilled as well with texts.  Every profession is involved in this aspect wether it be gaming  or entertainment industry whatever it is it is crucial to be able to function within the new technology and beable to understand and adapt to it.  People need to be able to grow and change to refect literacy practices in new digital communication environments.  Everything changes and we need to learn how to adapt and change to fit within other peoples needs and literacy practices.  In this day and age we have come to realize that many people not only spend a lot of time on still images animations and videos, but they enjoy it.  Many things these days involve these even if it is not for a job, but for leisure such as you tube or any of these other websites.  It has become a very frequent part of our lives.  Everywhere you look these days it is a constant reminder how ontop of everything you have to be, and how much you have to be aware and caught up.

Jobs Should Go to Americans, Not Immigrants

Posted by kylehanley on January 22, 2010

As the topic has always been in a heated discussion, but the reality of it is they do take a lot of jobs that some Americans dont want to do because they can get more from unemployement.  It is not as black and white as it is described in the title, but has more depth and controversy in areas that are not discussed.  The point of that we export jobs is no different and is a cause of some of our problems.
